Parent or Guardian Consent
Last updated October 7, 2026
Someone aged 16 or 17 can sell on Market Bee only if a parent or legal guardian agrees. This page is what you agree to when you sign: you become the store's account holder, responsible for it to Market Bee, and your teen runs it day to day. That lasts until your teen turns 18 and takes over in their own name.
This summary is here to orient you. The numbered sections below are the terms that actually apply.
1. Who can sign
You can sign this consent if you are the parent or legal guardian of the person who applied to sell (we call them your teen here), and you are at least 18. It is between you and Market Bee LLC ("Market Bee", "we", "us").
To sign, open the link in the email we sent you and sign in to your own Market Bee account with that same email address. Only you may sign. Don't let your teen, or anyone else, sign in your place. Typing your full legal name and selecting Sign and agree is your electronic signature, and it has the same effect as signing on paper.
2. What you agree to
By signing, you agree that:
- your teen may apply to sell on Market Bee;
- you have read the Vendor Agreement, and you enter into it as the Vendor responsible for your teen's store, if we approve it, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy;
- you authorize your teen to run that store through their own Market Bee account, following the Vendor Agreement and our rules;
- you are the store's account holder, as described below, until your teen takes over from you;
- you are your teen's parent or legal guardian, and you have the authority to give this consent;
- everything you told us when you signed is true.
3. You are the store's account holder
If we approve your teen's application before they turn 18, we set up the store with you as its account holder and your teen as the person who runs it. If they turn 18 first, they are the account holder themselves, and this consent isn't needed. Your teen can run the store day to day: list products, take preorders, invite and manage their team, and change the store's settings.
You are the Vendor responsible for the store. Until your teen takes over, you are responsible to Market Bee for the store and its obligations under the Vendor Agreement: the permits and licenses, food safety, taxes, how customers are treated, and what the store's team does. Your teen must follow the Vendor Agreement's rules and our Acceptable Use Policy whenever they use their account. If your teen's access to the store ever needs to change, contact us at support@themarketbee.com.
In the store's dashboard, we show both you and your teen with the Owner permission, and you can do everything it allows. That permission is about what each of you can do in the store on Market Bee. It doesn't decide who owns the business, its property or its money.
Until your teen takes over, nobody on the store's team can remove you, change your permission or suspend you. Only Market Bee can make that change: for example if you or your teen ask us to, or in the situations described below.
4. Permits, licenses and age rules
It is your responsibility, with your teen, to find out which permits and licenses the store needs for what it sells, including any rules about the age of the person making or selling it, and to hold them. Our approval of the store doesn't mean anyone has checked its permits, and it isn't a finding that the store, your teen, or anyone working with the store is allowed or licensed to make or sell any particular product. The Vendor Agreement sets out what is expected of every store.
5. When your teen turns 18
When your teen turns 18, they can take over from you as the store's account holder. To take over, they accept the Vendor Agreement as it then stands, in their own name. We'll ask them to accept it the next time they open the store's dashboard. Until they accept, you remain the store's account holder, and we may stop the store from taking new orders.
Once your teen accepts, they are the store's account holder, and your responsibilities as account holder end for anything the store does from then on. Obligations that arose before then aren't affected. After that, your teen can remove you from the store's team.
6. Withdrawing your consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time before your teen takes over, by emailing us at support@themarketbee.com. Withdrawing stops your teen from running the store under this consent. It doesn't affect orders, refunds, disputes or any other obligations that arose before you withdrew.
Once we've recorded your withdrawal, we may stop the store from taking new orders, or restrict what else it can do, straight away, and we may suspend or close the store once its outstanding orders are settled: someone under 18 can only sell here with a parent or legal guardian's consent. From then, you are no longer protected from being removed from the store's team. Withdrawing doesn't take you off it by itself, so tell us in the same email if you want to be removed.
7. What we record when you sign
- your Market Bee account, and the email address it uses;
- your full legal name and the date, as you typed them;
- whether you are your teen's parent or legal guardian;
- your age when you signed. We check your date of birth to confirm you are an adult, and keep only the age;
- which versions of this consent, the Vendor Agreement, the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy you agreed to;
- when you signed, and the internet (IP) address and browser details your device sent.
We keep this record as evidence of your consent. Your teen can't see your age, or the IP address and browser details we recorded. The Privacy Policy explains how long we keep it, including when an account is closed, and the choices you have.
8. If something you told us isn't true
Don't sign if you aren't your teen's parent or legal guardian with the authority to give this consent, or if you are under 18. If we learn that a consent was signed by someone who wasn't entitled to sign it, we may suspend or close the store.
9. Questions
