Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated August 29, 2026
Market Bee is built for local food, farm goods, and handmade products. This page lists what cannot be sold here, what cannot be posted here, and what will get an account removed. It is not a complete catalogue of every bad idea — if something is illegal, unsafe, dishonest, or plainly out of place on a platform families browse, assume it is prohibited even if it is not named below.
This summary is here to orient you. The numbered sections below are the terms that actually apply.
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses the Service and is part of the Terms of Service and the Vendor Agreement. Violating it is a breach of those agreements.
This Policy sets a floor, not a ceiling. A product being permitted here does not mean it is legal for you to sell — that depends on your licenses and permits, which are your responsibility.
2. Prohibited products
Do not list, offer, or arrange the transfer of any of the following through the Service:
Controlled and age-restricted goods
- Alcoholic beverages of any kind, including home-brewed beer, wine, cider, mead, and spirits, and alcohol-infused foods that require a liquor license.
- Tobacco, nicotine, vapes, e-liquids, and nicotine pouches.
- Cannabis, marijuana, THC, and any intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoid (including delta-8, delta-10, THC-A, and HHC), in any form, edible or otherwise — regardless of state licensing.
- CBD or hemp products intended for ingestion, and any CBD product marketed with a health or therapeutic claim.
- Kratom, nitrous oxide, and other intoxicants or research chemicals.
- Controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and any prescription medication.
Weapons and dangerous items
- Firearms, frames, receivers, ammunition, magazines, and firearm parts.
- Explosives, fireworks, and destructive devices.
- Knives or other weapons offered as weapons rather than as kitchen or craft tools.
- Hazardous, flammable, corrosive, radioactive, or toxic materials, and pesticides or fertilizers requiring restricted-use certification.
Foods that require permits you do not hold
- Any potentially hazardous or temperature-controlled food — including meat, poultry, seafood, cooked or canned low-acid vegetables, cheesecakes, cream- or custard-filled goods, and anything requiring refrigeration for safety — unless you hold every license and inspection required for it.
- Raw or unpasteurized milk and dairy, unless you hold every license Arizona requires for its sale and comply with every condition of that license.
- Home-canned or pressure-canned low-acid foods produced outside an approved process.
- Meat or poultry that has not been slaughtered and processed under the required inspection.
- Any food produced outside Arizona's cottage food program that has not been made in a licensed, inspected kitchen. See the Vendor Agreement for the licensing obligations.
Health, medical, and supplement claims
- Dietary supplements, tinctures, herbal remedies, or foods marketed as treating, curing, preventing, or diagnosing any disease or condition.
- Any claim that a product heals, detoxifies, boosts immunity, treats an illness, or replaces medical care.
- Medical devices, diagnostic tests, and personal protective equipment making protective claims.
Living things and protected species
- Live animals, livestock, poultry, and pets.
- Protected, endangered, or threatened species and anything made from them, including ivory and protected feathers, hides, or bone.
- Wild-harvested plants taken unlawfully, and plants or seeds subject to a quarantine or restricted for import.
- Human remains, bodily fluids, and human tissue.
Unlawful, unsafe, or dishonest goods
- Counterfeit goods and items that infringe someone's copyright, trademark, patent, or right of publicity — including unlicensed use of a character, sports team, or brand.
- Stolen goods, and anything you do not have the right to sell.
- Recalled products, expired food, and anything you know or suspect to be unsafe, adulterated, or contaminated.
- Products missing legally required labeling, or bearing false labeling — including false organic, gluten-free, allergen-free, or origin claims.
- Adult or sexually explicit material, and products marketed on sexual content.
- Items that promote hatred, violence, or discrimination against a protected group.
- Financial instruments, gift cards, cryptocurrency, lottery tickets, raffles, and gambling.
- Personal data, mailing lists, and account credentials.
3. Prohibited content
The section above is about the GOODS you offer. This one is about what gets PUBLISHED.
This section is addressed to vendors, because vendors are the only people who publish to the marketplace. Storefront copy and photographs, logos, product listings and images, announcements, and location details all come from a vendor account. Market Bee is browsed by families and by minors, and everything a vendor publishes has to suit that audience.
- Nudity, pornography, and sexually explicit or suggestive material.
- Graphic violence, gore, and imagery meant to shock or disturb.
- Hate speech, threats, bullying, and harassment. This applies to what you publish as much as to how you behave — see Prohibited conduct below.
- Content advertising, promoting, or linking to illegal products or services, whether or not the sale itself would happen here.
- Content that advertises or promotes weapons, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, or other regulated goods. Those may not be sold here at all — see Prohibited products above — and they may not be marketed here either.
- Images, logos, music, video, or writing you do not have the right to use, including a photograph taken from another website, another business's logo or branding, and a recording used behind a video.
- Listings that are fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading about what a product is, who made it, where it came from, or what it will cost.
- Content presenting a dangerous product as safe, or making a medical or health claim that is not supported — see the health-claim rules above.
- Another person's private information — home address, phone number, workplace, or anything else they have not chosen to publish themselves.
- Spam, and any attempt to move a customer off the Service into a scam, a fake payment flow, or an off-platform arrangement you would not be willing to put in writing here.
- Anything else inappropriate for a community-oriented platform that families and minors browse. A simple test: if it would not belong on a stall at a Saturday market with children walking past, it does not belong here.
Customers publish very little, but not nothing — a display name, a profile photo, and the note they can attach to a preorder. The same standards apply to those. A profile photo is subject to this section, and a display name or preorder note used to harass a vendor is covered by Prohibited conduct below.
4. Prohibited conduct
Honesty on the platform
- Do not impersonate another person, business, farm, market, or brand, or imply an affiliation, sponsorship, or certification you do not have.
- Do not create fake listings, fake storefronts, or duplicate accounts to evade a suspension or inflate your presence.
- Do not post fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews or reports, or manipulate ratings, follows, or favorites.
- Do not misrepresent inventory, availability, pickup times, prices, or where a product came from.
- Do not submit preorder requests you have no intention of collecting, and do not use requests to harass a vendor or tie up their stock.
Treatment of other people
- No harassment, threats, stalking, intimidation, or hate speech.
- No posting of another person's private information without their consent.
- No spam, chain messages, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited marketing to contacts obtained through the Service.
- No using the Service to defraud anyone or to arrange anything unlawful.
Technical abuse
- Do not scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download content, or use the Service to build a competing dataset or product.
- Do not use bots, scripts, or other automation against the Service, except a well-behaved search-engine crawler obeying our robots.txt.
- Do not probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, circumvent an access control, release gate, permission check, or rate limit, or access an account, vendor, or record that is not yours.
- Do not upload malware, or interfere with, overload, or degrade the Service or its infrastructure.
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, frame, or resell the Service.
5. Who is responsible for what
Vendors are responsible for their own products — the permits, licenses, and registrations they need; accurate ingredient and allergen disclosure; taxes; fulfillment; refunds; and every law that applies to what they make and sell. The Vendor Agreement sets all of that out in full, and it is the controlling text.
Market Bee does not inspect, prepare, make, grow, store, or guarantee any product listed here, and approving a vendor is not an endorsement, a certification, or a statement that anything has been verified. See Market Bee is a venue, not a seller in the Terms of Service.
6. Reporting a violation
Anyone can report content that violates this Policy. If you see a listing, storefront, message, or account that breaks it, tell us in the app through our contact page, or by email at support@themarketbee.com. Include a link and enough detail for us to find it. For copyright and trademark complaints specifically, follow the Copyright and DMCA Policy.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, or a product has made someone seriously ill, contact emergency services and the appropriate health authority first. We are not an emergency service and we cannot recall a product.
7. How we enforce this policy
We may take any action we consider appropriate, including removing or hiding content, restricting a feature, limiting announcement or preorder privileges, suspending or terminating an account, refusing a future application, and reporting conduct to law enforcement or a regulator.
We generally aim to warn first for minor or accidental violations and act immediately for anything involving safety, fraud, illegal goods, or harm to another user. We are not obligated to warn, to explain, or to act consistently between cases, and choosing not to act in one instance does not waive our right to act in another.
If we remove your content or restrict your account, you may contact us at support@themarketbee.com to ask why and to ask us to reconsider. Tell us what was removed and why you think the decision was wrong. We will reverse a decision we got wrong, but we cannot promise a response time or a particular outcome, and nothing here limits the discretion described above.
We do not pre-screen listings. Enforcement is largely reactive and depends on reports from people like you.
